Wall of Fire by The Wan

The WAN “Wall Of Fire” copyright 2018

Here’s the last few frames. It’s in French, which is a little rusty for me these days. Can anyone translate it?

Something about John Sweeney…..

final frame the wall f fire

Would love to get the lyrics to this song, too.

  1. I recently made a couple of comments on Terra Cognita’s “Satirical Scientology Saturday” topic on Mike Rinder’s blog. This Saturday the topic was past lives and last Saturday, God. I’m heading toward The Porch of Infinity, or, as someone else quoted;

“There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.”

Some folks may never have heard of that TV show called “The Twilight Zone” and it gave me a smile to recall that introduction to the show. The Wall of Fire would have been an excellent episode.

      • As far as I recall, yes it was. While I’m at it I think if civilization still exists in a hundred years and Independent Scientology is still around the Wall of Fire might be regarded as an allegory, a description of one thing under the image of another, from the Latin and Greek. Overpopulation causing havoc on inhabited planets might be a common theme. Maybe like Thelema which is still practiced by people, some people will take Hubbard’s occultism and run with it.

P.S. You and marildi got a passing mention on the topic for your quackery – LOL

  2. Translation:
“This song was inspired by the incredible adventure of John Sweeney, BBC reporter, who infiltrated the Church of Scientology.
In 1993 in the USA, Scientology obtained the status of a religion, thus obliterating its tax debt of $850 million.
Since its creation, Scientology has been pursued by allegations of violence, blackmail, extortion, murder.”

      • Any day. It was an easy moment for me, and I expect also for Doloras, but I’d like to highlight 2 inaccuracies – we both made one each. Her inaccuracy was to translate “chantage” as fraud – it is actually a very specific word and it means Blackmail. This of course refers to the Cherch’s use of recorded material gained by auditing. My inaccuracy was to translate “secte” as “church”, whereas Doloras quite correctly translates this as “cult”. Otherwise it would be “eglise”.

I’m posting this because I think that accuracy matters.

  3. LYRICS

    First line:

    “It’s your right to have a personality….

    CHORUS:

    “I’m for cure there….
    “When you die there’s nothing
“It’s a mind he takes there
    “It’s the wall of fire”

Can anyone else make out any of the other lyrics?

  4. THIS SONG IS INSPIRED BY THE INCREDIBLE ADVENTURE OF JOHN SWEENY, BBC REPORTER, WHO INFILTRATED THE SCIENTOLOGY CULT.

IN 1993 IN THE USA, SCIENTOLOGY OBTAINED THE STATUS OF A RELIGION, THUS ELIMINATING A TAX DEBT OF $850 MILLION.

SINCE ITS CREATION, SCIENTOLOGY HAS BEEN DOGGED BY ACCUSATIONS OF VIOLENCE, FRAUD, EXTORTION, AND MURDER.
