11 years after L Ron Hubbard gave the lecture “The Role of Earth”, he gave this lecture on what he said was done to people after they died, and before they came back to pick up a new body.
This lecture was famous on the Saint Hill Special Briefing Course (SHSBC) – a massive course which follows the chronological development of the technology of Dianetics & Scientology – and which the Church of Scientology no longer delivers.
Neither this tape, nor “The Role of Earth” were confidential like the OT levels are. I first heard The Role of Earth and Between Lives Implants in the 1980’s as part of a series of tapes offered to the public called “The OT Tapes”.
What’s astounding about this lecture is that Ted Koppel played a part of it to David Miscavige on his infamous 1992 interview on Nightline.
In response to Ted Koppel playing this lecture, David Miscavige said, on national TV, “That’s no longer part of modern Scientology”.
That was a lie. I’d purchased this tape as part of the OT Tapes, and as I said, I’d also studied this tape on the Saint Hill Special Briefing course in the late 90’s.
But since Scientology doesn’t deliver the SHSBC any more, and it is systematically dismantling Scientology, maybe it’s true now.

This tape, along with The Role of Earth, expresses the purpose of Dianetics and Scientology. As with the Role of Earth, if you haven’t heard this one and you are discussing Scientology, you don’t know what you’re talking about.
