Another excellent discussion over on Mike Rinder’s blog prompted me to post this solution to the endless tribal warfare between “spiritualists” and “scientists”. Although I almost always disagree with her, Marildi, once again does an admirable job making her case. As well as Eclipse-Girl, Roger Hornaday, and the rest. _____________________________________ marildi says June 17, 2015 […]

Marty brings up the promise of legal action by Mike and Leah at the end of Season 1 of Scientology & the Aftermath. Marty claims that he and Mike went to a top-tier legal firm just like Leah and Mike did in the last episode of the show. Marty says that the legal firm told […]
To hear Anti-Scientologists tell it, Elizabeth Moss was just a clueless & brainwashed Scientologist during her Emmy-winning performance portraying Offred in “The Handmaid’s Tale”. But is thinking with stereotypes about people in minority religions ever going to explain how Elizabeth Moss is such a great actress? Having been a member of Scientology for 16 years, […]
Is Tony Ortega is trying to undermine yet another Ex-Scientologist? Ex-Scientologists that Tony Ortega has undermined: Carmen Llewelyn Marty and Monique Rathbun Mike Berman And now Aaron Smith-Levin And those are just the ones I’ve written about. (If there are any others, please let me know in the comments section.) They are all brave […]
A Scientologist argues: Because there’s so much good in Scientology, there’s no need to talk about the bad. An Anti-Scientologist argues: Because there’s so much bad in Scientology, there’s no need to talk about the good. Both are illegitimate arguments, and show the problem with tribal thinking when it comes to the truth. The truth […]
One of the benefits of Hubbard’s Scientology ethics technology is to provide a way to structure the analysis of problems in your life, and to think up solutions to deal with them. One of the problems with Hubbard’s ethics technology is that his structure is designed to always put the interests and goals of Scientology, […]
Former ED International of the Church of Scientology Bill Franks Reveals L Ron Hubbard’s Efforts to Create Brainwashing in Scientology.
When I got out of Scientology and began exposing them on the Internet 19 years ago, it was because I had discovered how cruel that the leadership in the Church of Scientology had been to too many people. And I realized this had to be stopped. And so, along with many others, at great risk […]
People need simplistic explanations for Scientology because it’s too much work to understand it. They just want Scientology to be a cult & Hubbard to be a con man because it’s easier to think with that way. Even an Ex-Scientologist can go through a period where this is what they want. In the long run, […]
The anti cult movement teaches that minority religions harm the mental health of their members. Hundreds of psychological practices have been built on the idea that Ex members of these minority religions are suffering from some form of mental illness, and that they need to ‘recover’ from it. Leaving your previous religious or spiritual pursuit, […]
Vicar, in his short but excellent comment over on Mark C Rathbun’s blog, wrote: “I would have to think that the deeper one follows Ron and presses on in this search for his native state, the more likely they are moving away from ever realizing it and being at peace. Its a collapsed bridge. Run.” […]
Ask yourself: Is Tony Ortega biased on the subject of Scientology, on L. Ron Hubbard, on David Miscavige, or even on minority religions? Might he be biased in the area of religious and spiritual pursuits generally? Really. Ask yourself these questions. Then consider my argument below. Video Transcript: Hi. It’s Alanzo. Today I want to […]
Anyone who has read anything about hypnosis from a source other than L Ron Hubbard can see that auditing produces a hypnotic state and makes a Scientologist highly suggestible. Here’s a good place to start to learn about what hypnosis really is: Scientific American And here’s a good definition of the term by the American […]
Recently Mike Rinder called a poster to his blog a “dupe” and banned her for posting a link to a US Senate investigation on Backpage.com because it had information in it that exposed his fellow anti-Scientologist Tony Ortega as defending, endorsing, and condoning sex trafficking and pedophilia while he worked at the Village Voice. Both Mike […]
Ever since October of 1950, when Dr. Joseph Winter publicly left the burgeoning Dianetic movement and wrote a book called “A Doctor’s Report on Dianetics“, L Ron Hubbard had a problem: Books like that made his stats crash. People who were involved in Dianetics, or the families and friends of those involved, would read these […]
The following is an exchange with a commentor on Marty Rathbun’s blog named Conan. In this exchange, I was able to clearly and simply express what I have learned that L Ron Hubbard was really up to with Scientology. I appreciate the softballs that Conan threw me which allowed me to finally knock this idea […]
After calling it her religion for 34 years, Leah Remini now claims that Scientology is not a religion. Many anti-Scientologists promote the fact that the Church of Scientology went through a very intentional and detailed overhaul of all its missions and orgs to make Scientology look like more of what people expect a religion to […]
I’ve been practicing Basic Skepticism on marauding Anti-Scientologists on the Internet. It’s pretty much unstoppable. Here’s how it works.
Tony Ortega writes a blog post with a clear bias against Scientology every day, sometimes more than one. And so it really is tiresome for me to be talking about Tony Ortega’s bias against Scientology every day, but the latest accusations of rape against Paul Haggis, a recent poster boy for anti-Scientology, show Tony Ortega’s […]
Sitting there in that locked room, with two Scientology salespeople, I said, “Wait a minute, Tim. I got into Scientology to win at life, not to lose at it. Declaring bankruptcy is losing at life.”
Mike Rinder’s blog has a post today about “2 Types of Exes” which is eerily reminiscent of “Two Types of People” by L Ron himself. Hubbard was wrong about this two poled thinking and so is Mike Rinder. Here’s why.
Rex Fowler Scientology Operating Thetan Level 7 “Ciancio died Dec. 30, 2009 while he went to the office to collect a severance check from Fowler Software Design. Ciancio had decided to leave the company after the founder, 58-year-old Rex Fowler, had diverted $175,000 in company funds to Fowler’s church, the Church of Scientology.” Scientology OT […]
I wrote this after dealing with a swarm of Scientologists on the Internet: I’ve seen it now. It is unmistakable. It works like this: You present an idea that has NOTHING to do with Scientology, and the Scientologist must relate it to something in Scientology to “understand” what you are talking about. Example: I wrote […]
The key to understanding the true value of Scientology’s logic system called the Data Series lies in understanding the idea that there are many different types of logic. Each logic was built for a purpose, and each logic performs a particular function. For instance, binary computer logic was created to turn off and on electricity […]
Until the background of these acts have been exposed, detailed and thoroughly condemned by Mike Rider and Marty Rathbun, and amends made to Gerry Armstrong for what they have done to him, there can be little possibility that a person who wishes to claim they are “exposing the abuses of Scientology” fails to expose the […]
Mike Rinder should use Season 2 of Scientology and The Aftermath to provide a Truth and Reconciliation commission on the people he has fair-gamed as the head of OSA.
And they deserve closure. No person who is loyal and sycophantic to those who refuse to provide the information necessary to help people who have been harmed by Scientology are likely to be a credible journalistic source for those scrambling to make a buck at Scientology reporting. That’s a long sentence, but if you read […]
This is an excerpt from sociology professor Eileen Barker at the London School of Economics. A link to the full pdf is provided below. I post it because it is a different view of ‘cults’ than we are given in the standard anti-cult movement’s narrative. I think this different, more objective view is healthier for […]
The “Father of Deprogramming” Ted Patrick was a devoted Christian who believed he was doing God’s work by kidnapping people & holding them in a room & browbeating them until they denounced their faith. In 1980, he served 1 year in prison and paid a $5000 fine for kidnapping and false imprisonment.
2 cult stereotypes: bereft of individuality, unable to think their own thoughts, following their leaders blindly and robotically. It’s strange for an Ex to accept these stereotypes about who they used to be. Yet Exes seem to do it – almost unthinkingly & obediently. When will they begin questioning these stereotypes of minority religions?
Robert Vaughn Young (RVY) was Mike Rinder’s predecessor for many years. He woke up from the spell of Scientology in the 1990’s and contributed some of the best critical writing on Scientology that exists. He died of cancer in 2003.
The main thing wrong with Scientology is that you might end up disconnecting from someone in your family? After all this time, is that all we’ve got?
I tweeted this out today. For 8 yrs, @MikeRinder's operated on the #Scientology Bean Theory of Truth & Reconciliation:For every bean I spend, I get more in return. — Alanzo (@AlanzosBlog) March 29, 2017 It's time for @MikeRinder to stop spending beans, and to start spilling them. Address the Old Guard #scientology critics you have […]
After being an Ex-Scientologist for 18 years, I’ve identified what I think are the top 5 things that, over time, become the most toxic and corrosive about being an Ex-Scientologist. I’m pretty sure most all Ex-Scientologists have experienced these, too. The trick is to not let them destroy you.
This documentary contains a very good discussion of the limits of power that people have over those who make religious and spiritual choices that others don’t like.
There are a lot of things about Scientology scriptures and OT levels that we would not have access to today on the Internet without the help of Dennis Ehrlich.
The first book I purchased at a Scientology Mission was “Hymn of Asia”. And that is because it was the first book on Scientology offered to me at the mission to buy. They offered it to me because I told them that I was interested in and studying Buddhism. I was told that Scientology is […]
The Great Scientology Dissipation will continue. From the Church of Scientology to Indie Scientology to Anti-Scientology to Post Ex-Scientology, the continuing diaspora will disperse and evaporate at ever-diminishing intensities. Still no criminal activity will be reported on the Church of Scientology, as has been the case for over 30 years. David Miscavige will continue to […]
The Free Exchange of Ideas The Questioning of Rooted Assumptions Allowing Rigorous Debate Cultivating Mutual Respect Seeking to Live With the Truth Whenever these ideals have been violated, I have always felt a sense of unfairness, and felt the need to criticize the venue or group which knowingly and continually violates them. My criticism of […]
Everyone should know the story of Gerry Armstrong. Because if it was not for Gerry Armstrong, LRH, Marty, Mike and Dave might have gotten away with the whole thing.
1.043 million viewers tuned in to see Season 2, Episode 7 of Leah Remini’s Scientology and the Aftermath on the A&E Network at 10pm on Tuesday night, per TV BY the Numbers.
I left the Church of Scientology in 2000, and have been doing what I can to warn the public about the lies and abuse that L. Ron Hubbard and the executives of the Church of Scientology have been waging against spiritual seekers who came to Scientology and trusted it as their chosen religion. From their […]
Is Leah preparing to jump the shark? After two missed episodes in the middle of a season, leaving the A&E Network’s Tuesday night 8pm slot with re-runs 2 weeks in a row, Aftermath returns with what appears to be more acting than ever. Leah’s hamming acting here actually does a disservice to the people she […]
This Ex-Scientologist is courageously putting herself out there and warning the public about the abuses she has personally witnessed in Scientology, and while she is in the middle of doing that, Tony Ortega tries to discredit her on his blog.
As you can see, viewers for the first night viewing for Season 2 Episode 8 of Leah Remini’s Scientology and the Aftermath dropped by another 70,000 for “Lifetime of Healing”. If we are to get the federal investigation that Leah said she wanted out of Season 2, we can’t just sit around with old friends […]
Most Exes have heard about the thought-stopping cliches that kept them thinking inside a cult mindset. But do thought-stopping cliches only exist in cultic thinking? Could thought-stopping cliches be keeping you trapped in any mindset at all? Anti-Scientology has its own thought-stopping cliches. Here are the top 5.
Truth changes. If there is anything that the experience of having gone through Scientology should teach an Ex-Scientologist, it’s that. If they quit being your friend/family just because the truth changed, then were they really your friend/family to begin with?
I’ve reached out to Tony Ortega via email for a comment about what kind of hatred of Christians was going through his mind, or if there was anything they did or said in the real world that set him off.
One of the most hysterical and unscientific beliefs of the Anti-Cult movement is that “brainwashing” and “Mind Control” is at work whenever anyone becomes a member of a “cult”. These ideas are assumed and unquestioned by members of the anti-Cult Movement. They’re the basis of their anti-cult beliefs. But when asked for any study that […]
In my race to lose friends and influence fewer people, I have to write one more post about the breathless and distorted interpretations of Scientology experiences by Tony Ortega. Yesterday, Tony Ortega wrote a blog post entitled “Even the local Scientology mission is hiding a horror show of abuse: Kelly Jordan tells her tale”. The […]
A valued contributor to this blog, Richard, said something that made me realize a whole bunch of things about Tony Ortega and his Underground Bunker, ESMB, and all the other outlets of the Anti-Scientology Mafia Network (ASMN) Richard wrote: “Classifying all people participating on the Underground Bunker as cultists seemed to have a shock effect, […]
“Knowledge of the enemy’s dispositions can only be obtained from other men. Hence the use of spies, of whom there are five classes: (1) Local spies; (2) inward spies; (3) converted spies; (4) doomed spies; (5) surviving spies. When these five kinds of spy are all at work, none can discover the secret system. This […]
There are some very common ways that you can become a hypocrite as an anti-Scientologist. After being an anti-Scientologist myself for so long, I have identified a few of those ways of thinking so that you can avoid being a hypocrite as an Anti-Scientologist.
If you came upon an article on the Internet about psychiatry which made some of the same outrageous claims that the Citizen’s Commission on Human Rights made, it would be an important critical thinking point to know whether the author was a Scientologist. Knowing whether the author was a Scientologist would allow you to know […]
